I traveled a small portion of the Flint Hills Scenic Byway, maybe 20 miles or so.

The byway, Kansas' Route 177 is a two-lane road traveling north and south through fields of tallgrass, open prairie and quaint little towns.

Flint Hills is named for its bands of flint and limestone that make up vast areas of the landscape.
